An incredible 130 riders took the start for the main race on a glorious Autumn day at Chainhurst Farm, Marden in the lovely Weald of Kent.

For VC Deal, Jack Finch made it three wins in a row in the Youth Series although he was made to work hard for it by Dan Young of Glendene CC. The two were locked together throughout the race, but a perfectly timed sprint saw Jack come round Dan just a few yards from the finish to take it by perhaps half a bikes length. Jack Spicer had probably his best race to date, 4th and not that far way from 3rd.

Ciaran O'Grady was agonisingly close to being first Junior. A fair way back from leading Junior rider Taylor Johnstone (De Ver Race Team) at the end of the first lap, Ciaran got to within about 10 seconds of Taylor with a couple of laps to go, but couldn't bridge the gap and eventually finished 17 seconds behind him, but a highly creditable 8th overall in the race.

Riding in the colours of his registered club VC Londres local rider Thomas Finch rode as well as I have ever seen him do to take second place in the Under 12s race. A regular at Fowlmead, it's impossible not to take an interest and be pleased for him even if he doesn't wear our shirt.

I didn't take any photos today, I was busy on Commissaires duties, plus I took my camera out of the bag to find the battery was flat. No doubt there will be plenty of good pictures from John Mulineaux on the LC-CA website.

Another good London League Event, well organised and everything running like clockwork, thanks to Geoff Hodgson and all his helpers from San Fairy Ann CC. Full results will be posted on the LC-CA website, but for now here are demi-results: -
